Vital PCH Link between Oxnard and Malibu closed

CBS Los Angeles is reporting:

A six-mile stretch of the highway was closed between Las Posas and Yerba Buena roads, said Patrick Chandler of Caltrans. It’s unclear when it will be reopened.

Having driven this are many times, I’ll say there’s only so much Caltrans can do to prep for these mudslides, especially with the havoc that recent fires have played on the hills.

If your normal route is taking PCH into Malibu, take the 101 to Kanan or Las Virgenes, as those two connectors handle the rain better than others(but still not great). Potero Road is normally a option, but I’d be wary of mudslides there as well.
